Moonlight Dinner
A poem
Unhurriedly
the days stretched out
Now, I cook dinner
with sunshine
All the kids playing outside
so many, I lose count
Jumping, skipping, running,
pretending, creating, becoming
My girls join the fun
A bit of sunscreen
but the hat remains unused
How can one be a real explorer
if their sunhat has
rainbows and unicorns?
The best fruits
come with the season
Strawberries, blueberries
refreshing watermelons
to cool down
Pretend quests are tough
and tiny bellies
have big appetites
The days start early
The sun has got its hat on
hippy hippy hippy hooray
and it wants to play
at four in the morning
