Rabbit Man on the Trail

Case of the Missing Lunatic Poet

The trail of paper
may lead the way
to find The Lunatic Poet,
who has gone astray?

Rabbit Man picks up
the pages one by one,
hoping to find his friend
and have a little fun.

Hours later,
he’s still on the run,
the sun has set
and night has begun.

He wanders deserted streets
through shadows and fog,
somehow losing his way
and finds himself schlepping
through a creepy bog.

Rabbit Man trips on a tree limb
and goes tumbling down
and out of control,
he can’t remember seeing
that open manhole.

At the bottom,
he lands with a thud,
turning his head
to spit out a mouthful of mud.
