September Soliloquy

(Give Me a Hill)

Looking at the stream
I can see why it’s subject to contemplation
Raging waters offer extra punches
But not now, not this moment
The swiftness betrays itself

And me

I want its bubbling
The gurgling of it choking
Strangled by its own rapids
