The Accident (Part 14)
A Short Story

Hallway near Mr. Felix’s Office… 2:30pm
“Damnit! I can’t believe I forgot about Mr. Felix. I’m lucky he didn’t have someone kidnap me during the night for not showing up. He’s going to be pissed.” Dr. Marx says to himself.
The doctor walks briskly down the hallway and stops at the door with Mr. Felix’s name on it. He is surprised to find the door isn’t locked when he turns the doorknob. An unfamiliar woman is sitting behind the secretary’s desk.
“Hello, sir. May I help you?” The brunette woman asks while snapping the gum in her mouth.
Nervously, Dr. Marx answers, “Hello, yes, thank you. I’m Dr. Marx and I’m here to see Mr. Felix. He called yesterday and told my secretary he would like to see me. I know I’m a day late, but things have been a bit busy lately. I’m hoping he has a moment to meet with me now.”
“Let me see if he is available for you. Give me one moment.”
The woman, whose name was never given knocked on the door to the right of her desk and then disappeared…
