The Underground…
Veronica is staring at Wendy as she fidgets in the seat, seemingly nervous. Both have been silent for a few minutes.
Finally, Wendy takes one last deep breath and begins, “So, back when this whole thing started, there was a group of people back in New Mexico who had started planning for The Underground. It was headed by my uncle, who I didn’t know existed until I was kidnapped and brought to New Mexico one night. To make things even crazier, my grandmother and grandfather also lived there and owned a business.”
“Wait, so… you were kidnapped?” Veronica says very confused.
“I was kidnapped while in the middle of dinner with my friends, Sarah, who you know, and Jess. Well, Sarah was my best friend, Jess, not so much, but we tolerated each other.”
“Okay, that’s fucked up. Who kidnapped you?”
“These two women, Becky and Rachel “bumped” into me in the bathroom, and we shared some pot. In the meantime, back at the table, Jess put something in my drink. I go…
