The Accident (Part 2)

I open my eyes and turn towards Samuel, “It’s about fucking time you show up. Yes, I have questions. Where am I? How did I get here? How does everyone know my name?”
Before Samuel could answer any of my questions, I remembered one more, “Oh, and one more… Are you a doctor?”
Samuel closes his eyes briefly before answering, “Let’s start with the easiest question first. We all know your name because your driver’s license was in your wallet.”
I mentally slapped myself in the face after that answer because it was so obvious. “Okay, I should have guessed that one. Can you tell me how I got here?”
“That question is easy as well. One of our convoys was driving down the highway and saw you lying in the middle of the roadway. Luckily, Leroy and Kristen had their EMT kits with them and were able to put a neck brace on and get you onto a gurney and into the back of their van. It’s always nice to have a medical team traveling with the group.”
“Thank you. I appreciate your team stopping.” I replied.
Samuel continued, “It’s our pleasure Mr. Foster. Now, I should tell you that you were in pretty bad shape when we arrived at the scene. Heck, we have no idea how long you were lying…
