The Accident (Part 9)
A Short Story

Dr. Marx’s Office…
The phone buzzes and Dr. Marx answers, “Yes, Helen? What can I do for you?”
Helen sounds desperate, “Mr. Felix just called and asked to speak with you.”
“Ok, that doesn’t sound horrible. Why do you sound nervous?” Dr. Marx asked.
“Well, he sounded angry. At first, he wanted you to give him a call. Then, he changed his mind and asked that you go to his office immediately.”
Dr. Marx began to sound worried, “I wonder why he changed his mind. Did he say anything else to you or ask you any questions?”
Helen hesitated, “Yes, he was inquiring about Mr. Foster. He asked if I knew anything specific about him.”
“I’m assuming you said that you knew nothing about Mr. Foster?” Dr. Marx remarked.
“Correct, sir. I told him I didn’t know anything and that I would have you contact him right away. That’s when he decided to ask for you to go to his office.” Helen seemed a bit anxious at this point.
