This Is What a Spiritual Test Really Looks Like
Sometimes the lesson can only be learned after you pass it.
I was walking back home from a dentist appointment with my partner. We were both venting about the rough neighborhood we live in.
On our walks, we tend to crossover into other neighborhoods with pretty houses, clean streets, and an overall better vibration (and healthier air quality).
We take these walks for our mental health, but lately, we’ve been leaving these areas even more depressed than usual because we know we’re returning to unsafe terrain.
A little backstory on us
My partner’s kid was shot and killed on the basketball court outside of our building five years ago. He had dreams of making it into the NBA, and honestly, we all believe he would have. He had what it took, and he had the heart. He also had the stats and tenacity.
On the night he was gunned down, he had just come home from winning a basketball game. He got home on a high from the win and wanted to practice shooting more hoops. He got shot in his neck mid-throw.
