Uncountable Mouths Reflecting Back In All Directions

A poem

The same image repeated several times in a grid, featuring a closeup of a person’s face with their mouth wide open, as if yelling. The faces are red, as if to indicate anger or heightened emotion.

Hallway of mirrors
stretching well past
the vanishing point,
uncountable mouths
reflecting back in
all directions.

Impossible chorus,
walls of white noise,
competing and
unintelligible,
so many moving lips
but not an ear to be found
anywhere.

Each mouth mistakes itself
for a hurricane,
each unaware that it is
but a grain of sand
lost in the wind.
