The rent in San Francisco is big problem
The rent in San Francisco is very high, even higher than you think.
Before the rent in San Francisco was lower than current because many big companies haven’t come to the San Francisco, the people could afford the rent and had a good quality of life. After the big companies move to San Francisco, the city become gentrification. More and more high tech people come to the city. The rent was starting increase and more and more people start to move out of San Francisco, more and more people become the homeless. The rent in San Francisco should be cheaper, and the government should find a place for the resident who cannot afford the rent in San Francisco.
According to housing advocate Gray McCoy, “so they might be living in a house that they can afford currently with their private plan, but once they’re on Social Security Disability Insurance, and they are on that low, fixed income, we start to see a problem where they can’t stay in the city, and they can’t see the medical providers that they’ve had for a long time. And they’re forced out of the communities that they’ve been in for a long time and that they rely on for their emotional and mental well-being. So it’s important to make sure housing is available for everyone”. It says the tenant think the rent in SF is too high. More and more people starting to become homeless, and moving out of the city because of the rent is too high. Also, he said, “ being homeless was tough. It’s very stressful. A lot of my focus was on where I was going to stay for the night — just trying to find a couch I could sleep on, and if that didn’t work, trying to find a dry place out of the elements where I could sleep through the night. I was very embarrassed. I tried to get up before the sun came up so nobody would see me. It’s hard to focus on getting yourself out of that hole when you’re just in survival mode”. It says the homeless think they want to have a comfortable place to live in for their survive.
Some reasons that shows why the rent of San Francisco is rising so much are Government Regulation, New Mortgage Rules, Less Crime, Social Stratification, Hipsters, Market Speculation, Race, and People with money want to live there according to the article “8 Reasons Why The Rent Is Too Damn High”
Basie on those evidence, we know the main reason is rent in San Francisco is making the people decrease the quality of Life. we have to do something for it to make our community better, one way you can do is to protest the government to ask for more afford housing, or you can write the letter to the people who in charge the city. The government should do that because of the social equity, if the low income people cannot afford the rent, and the government doesn’t help them or doesn’t gives enough support, they would hard to survive in the city. Some suggestion I need to tell the people who are renting the house in San Francisco. if you feel tired about renting the high rent, you can move to other city that the rent relatively cheap. If you really want to live in this city, you have to work hard for the rent and save more money for rent. Lastly, I hope everyone who live in the San Francisco have a Satisfied with the room and rent.
