sf, night

dear Nicole,

a nice, low-key saturday. kinda lounged around home all day, did some work, but my proudest achievement today was that HARRISON BARNES FOLLOWED ME!!!!!!

yes, that’s right, NBA basketball player extraordinaire, for whom i cheer for when i watch every warriors game, the one and only BLACK FALCON. so fucking pumped. basically, the HGB jersey that jacob got me for xmas (i digress but UGH my pen just died so now this letter is going to be all black and blue… like that backstreet boys album) was the best gift. cause tweeted that foto of me in his jersey and then got the follow.

anyways… i feel like i gotta end it there cause need to go out on a high note???

j and i went to haight for some greek food tonight. very tasty. that white sauce they give you is such crack. had to resist the urge to lick my plate… but i behaved myself like a civilized human. then we took a stroll down haight st and stumbled across this holiday art walk event, for local shops and businesses. was fun to do a bit of exploring of another neighborhood. i bought the most amazing candle—pink mimosa—and it smells so fucking good. i’ve brought it with me from room to room bc i want to keep smelling it.

still need to watch creed! excited for michael b. jordan’s glistening.

how’s your weekend going? you’re wrapping up this quarter pretty soon, huh. [kanye voice] oh we should make family dinner reservations for your graduation… and continue the Achatz restaurant tradition? Alinea again, or maybe Next again? PLAYER’S CHOICE.

have you joined the uncommon community yet? think i sent you my invite… spent a bit more time in there this weekend. just find the space to be a nice breath of fresh air from all the cacophony and preoccupation with NOWNESS that permeates the rest of the web. been thinking about this idea of slow internet, creating intentional spaces for humans to occupy, to think, to interact, to discuss, or to just be. how it’s not always about simply maximizing efficiency, which i think is something technology biases us towards.

ok but really just to drive the main point of this letter home, harrison barnes and i are now twitter friends. TEE HEE.

hope your date #2 went well! looking forward to reading your account of the movie experience… i keep picturing that madTV sketch and imagining your date was like, work that updo! yvonne, my lil croissant. did he like sneeze and then put his arm around you??

gonna try to sleep a bit early tonight, feel like i’m fighting an oncoming cold. going to prevent that through a) sheer force of will and b) drowning it out with vitamin c.

see you v soon! miss ya.

❤,

k
