Write Club: Submission Guidelines

In the first instance, what I am looking for is great writing. I want, like any other reader, to be entertained. With that one thing in mind, let’s proceed:

  1. Submit whatever you like. I will, within reason, try to read anything and everything. Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, you name it.
  2. I will not accept: published work. Let’s stick to unpublished drafts, please. You will need to send a link to your unpublished draft, along with your Medium username and a brief introduction (if you like). Send this to: writeclubeditor@gmail.com
  3. If possible, your work should be behind the Medium paywall which means that it’s for members-only and, you get paid for your work. This second part is important to me. I want you to get paid for your work. If someone took the time to read something you wrote and (hopefully) enjoyed it — you should get paid for that. You entertained someone for a portion of their day.
  4. All pieces should have a headline, subhead, image (with credited source). It’s your work and you can do what you like, but it’s useful to acknowledge that people will generally click on something that has a nice picture and a compelling headline. I want your work to get the attention it deserves.
  5. Tag your pieces. You are given five tags, use them! Try to make sure they are closely related to the…
