“Always kiss your children goodnight, even if they are already asleep.” — H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

The first warm touch, loads of care, unconditional love, ultimate support, holding hands, hugs and kisses, fragrance of each other, eyes full of hope conveying assurance - all of these signs with uncountable more picture the remarkable portrait of parenting.

Parenting is a phase in one's life when you give your whole to your child.

It comes with apparent cherishing moments.

However, parenting is not a cakewalk. Being a parent is a challenging role in itself.

Children are impressionable at a very young age.

They must be well guided through manners and etiquette and this is what parenting is all about.

Yet there are conflicts in parents, in what way they need to work towards parenting.

Below, there are three must follow parenting ideas which can be fruitful for you and your child in long term.

1. Let their curiosity fuelled

Unlike adults children ask loads of questions that is why they are termed as curious.

What would happen if you let your children ask as many questions as they come to their mind?

Before answering this question, you must ask the opposite one.

What would happen if you don't let your children ask questions at all?

Answer is apparent.

Their inherent inquisitiveness will die and then they will no longer be a child.

They would resist to approach something new because they would fear the undesirable consequences.

They would be conditioned and would not act differently on their own.

So how about doing the opposite?

Give them freedom to ask 'n' number of questions.

You would feel exhausted by their unlimited questions, but this is what comes with parenting.

Whether their questions look ingenious or stupid to you, just let them ask.

Show them you are interested in their questions and appreciate their initiative of asking questions.

Children have the inherent artistry of asking questions.

They are not biased towards anyone so their questions are already rational and not stupid at all as you may think.

So, try to answer every question they ask.

If you do not know any specific one, tell them and assure that you would try to find it.

But do not chide them ever for asking questions.

Also, tell them that there is no right or wrong answer to any question and there can be many answers to a question, in other words, perspectives.

Make them understand that the answer you are giving is just your perspective and may not be true.

Thus, to raise your child in a healthy environment, unshackle them to question anything and everything.

2. Show them the light of honesty

Try your best to let them hold the hands of honesty. The same can only happen when you walk the talk.

If you want your child to adopt healthy eating habits, for example, you may have to refrain from eating junk.

This is one way to teach them what you think is beneficial for them.

What if you do not have the quality or skill either, which you dream your child to have.

How would you guide them then?

Speak the truth upfront.

Let them know that this is how things work.

Suppose you want to warn your child about the adverse effects that social media has on kids.

If you only tell them how social media causes damage to their life, they might not understand it well.

Inform them the benefits as well as drawbacks of using social media.

Let them act and decide what is right for them.

Just tell everything right there and do not force them at any cost.

Instead of telling your children to stick to set rules, let them decide what is appropriate for them.

So if you want to teach your child any skill, teach them honesty.

3. Do not overstuff them with things

Do not give your child everything without even their asking for it just because "you can afford".

Once in a while, you should say a 'no' to them as well.

Because if you overstuff them with toys or any other thing for that matter, they might not understand the importance of those things.

Soon they would move to the next latest thing available.

Same is the case with food. If you try to make them eat extra food, even when they are not hungry, you would end up harming their inner mechanism.

Because children better understand how much and when they have to eat.

So it is necessary that you must not end their excitement and enthusiasm for the items they give utmost importance to by providing them everything at once or in bulk.

On the other hand, it is equally important that you must give them what is significant for them at that point of time when they ask - whether it is a toy or time with you.

Your children should understand the value of money and you can do so by giving them a limited amount of pocket money which can cover their expenses.

And let them decide how they want to spend the money.

But it should be limited with the intent that they could learn to save money.

Hence, neither provide them anything beyond their need nor avoid what they ask or need.

In the end, by following these golden ideas of parenting your children, you can give them new wings and desired independency.

Your children will thank you for this in the future.
