Whenever I read an article or a self-help book on becoming better, I wonder who wouldn’t want to become better. We all want to become better. We really do.

We love to follow the laws of right and wrong. But practically very few among us are striving to become better.

Most of the time, we wish for improvement and start with tough things and end up where we were.

Keep it light, keep it steady to get better.

Everyone has his flaws and strengths. Life has given you all the things you need. There is a need to know what will work better. In this pursuit, you have to improve each day, little by little.

In this article, I’m sharing those reasons which always tempt me to become a better person in all matters of life.

1. It’s a way to accept yourself.

When you seek betterment in your life, in your surroundings, you accept your weaknesses, and strengths, and your whole self. You avoid self-delusions. Your way forward is clear.

You are your own world. Nobody can know or understand you like yourself. Seeking betterment is a way to accept and own all you have in you.

“As you become clearer about who you really are, you’ll be better able to decide what is best for you - the first time around.”

2. It gives Positive energy to get going.

Every cause has an effect. Aspiring to become a better person motivates positive energy in you as it gives you a reason to find joy, help, courage, and all you need to have.

Satisfaction is supposed to be the end of efforts. You live a lively life when you pursue betterment. There is no reason to wreck this life by giving up on a better tomorrow.

“When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with other.”

Peace Pilgrim

3. It makes you less judgemental.

We, as humans love to judge others. It’s easy to forgive ourselves but when others do the same things, they are terrible for us. This is double-standard. It can be helped by owning your shortcomings.

When you know your flaws, you have more courage to understand others.
Here, I do have a personal story to share. I’ve been writing nonfiction articles for many purposes, working for clients but I’m new to blogging. Here with each article, I learn something each day.

From over 70 pieces of writing here, I know too well the effort it takes to write for yourself. It takes courage to avoid feeling vulnerable and shy and tell everything you have to tell.

I understand every beginner writer now. I’m no more a judgemental reader, I read and appreciate everyone’s work that comes my way (although I don’t have much time to read because of more than enough errands on my plate).

I’m striving to be a better blogger and in this quest, I’m no more judgemental.

4. Everything around you improves in this journey.

When you explore the ways to bring improvement in your life, you are following a difficult road. Fate comes to help you as it attends those who seek betterment.

Along with changing you, it changes the things and people around you to make your way easier for you.

“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”

-Paulo Coelho

To sum up the essay, in one way or another, your way, your life becomes better as Self-improvement is light in a blind alley. You cannot get all changes at once, so seek little by little help each day.
