$5K in Facebook Ads Brought Zero Sales: Here’s the Secret I Learned
Years later someone mentioned this in passing.
It was 2017, and I felt I was going to break through. I could feel it.
Like Luke Skywalker destroying the Death Star while fighting off Darth Vader and trying to save the rebels, I was sure it would happen for me. All I had to do was navigate down a trench, make my shot down a small thermal exhaust port and the entire Death Star would explode.
What I know now, is I was more like Alderaan — the planet the Death Star blew up. For practice.
For those who aren’t Star Wars literate…
Part of my plan was Facebook advertising.
Like so many entrepreneurs trying to “make it,” I found a few people to copy. I toted my trusty Apple Mac to coffee shops like they did, and I worked hard at leaf speckled tables. I bought a website, a camera, lights, and a small mic. Then I bought video editing software, created a product and paid for a platform to host it.
Just as my entrepreneur heros — Marie Forleo, Brendon Burchard, Laura Belgray— had made it, I’d make it too. And part of their success had been Facebook advertising. It was a no-brainer.
