What are we doing to ourselves by sitting for hours at a time every day, and why should we care? Let’s start with what it means.

Research suggests that sitting for most of your day will increase your risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. We’re all guilty of this, whether you have a desk job or not, because technology has us strapped to our desks more than ever before. And our health is suffering as a result.

While you may not be able to swap out your desk job for one that requires walking or staying active all day, there is something you can do right now to improve your health- good posture.

What’s the best sitting position for good posture? The answer is simple: you should sit up straight and be mindful of your alignment.

To achieve this, make sure to keep a neutral spine while seated in front of your computer or device. Use padded chairs that provide adequate back support and avoid slouching at all costs! You can also use an ergonomic keyboard tray to keep your wrists in a neutral position.
