They call it Sonder

clouded eyes

ticking brains

what was lost

and what was gained

flow before us

push us along

pass away all

Struggling

she lives in shadows

Won’t pull the ropes

shines the spotlight too softly

Moving only with the background of the sets

an extra

but You, You sure are something

You tumble gracefully through scenes

Your eyes sparkle in the spotlight, shining

and everyone, everyone could see this

Your left elbow scar is r e f l e c t i v e under bright lights

Your birthmarked brow saturates

Your footfalls

BREAK

the perfect ⋅ silence

but as you look

past your fingertips

past center stage

past the drop

no one is watching

an extra
