Careless, disrespectful, loud, hurried, lazy, uncaring, easily bored, and whatever.

Says who?

Oh, just shut the fish up!

I find today’s young adults being aware.

Being curious.

Being caring.

Being daring.

Also being vulnerable!

So, what’s wrong with that? Isn’t that normal?

Why do we ‘older adults’ have so much to tell?

I am happy to see them today,

Talk about climate change and child care,

Education, human rights, and animal welfare.

Mindful and responsive,

Ready to take on the world, instead of stand and stare.

Today’s youth have a mind of their own,

They think, discuss and take no scorn.

Some high on beliefs and some on opinions,

But that is all well — who are we to judge?

Come forth you youth; carry on the baton and move.

Lead us all on, we are there behind you.

Our legs are weak and you be our crutch,

But allow us to share our minds, we are full of ideas and thoughts.

We can help in our subtle way, but hold the baton and lead the way.

Come on you young warriors, lead the way.
