Poetry

The leaves fall,
One by one,
In this life so small,
Even when nothing’s done.
The branches break,
When the load exceeds,
Although there’s alot to make,
For the must-have needs.
But if the roots are strong,
The leaves will grow again,
New branches will come along,
More impervious to the heat and the rain.
So let’s focus on the roots,
Let’s focus within,
Cus' for some worthwhile fruits,
The beginnings must begin.

~Afrah Khan

A thing I wanted to convey through this poem was, Often people want to run higher than their capacity and end up impractical and insufficient. This is the time we should understand that what we need to build is not our outer but inner self. Let’s begin from the beginning and build our roots, gradually catch up our own pace, and soon we’ll definitely be the person we wish for.
