CDC Level 4 Caribbean Islands, you should not visit.

Covid-19 has taken a toll on the Earth and its inhabitants for the last two years. Have you seen the news from CDC over the last week? Recently CDC updated the list of countries on their level 4 travel recommendation list. While the relaxation of mask mandates is announced in the US, quite a few Caribbean countries are on the level 4 travel recommendation.
COVID-19’s effect on global travel.
In November 2019, the first case of COVID-19 appeared. Covid’s spread has now reached every corner of the globe. Covid-19 developed into a pandemic that completely shut down the world. Vaccines and established guidelines have tried to bring things back to some level of normality. But are things getting back to normal? It doesn’t appear that way since the CDC regularly adds more countries to their “Travel Recommendation list.” So if you had plans, you should double think about your trip to the Caribbean.

But wait, the situation gets worse. Many of the destinations making these recordings are from cold countries. Now many warm island getaway destinations are climbing up the levels at the CDC. It seems like things are getting worse in the Caribbean.
CDC recommendation for travelers
The CDC has a system to advise travelers about safe vacation destinations. The CDC collects data from countries worldwide, processes it, then places countries at different levels. Countries with high numbers are placed in level 4 while the lowest level is 0. You can check the list of Covid-19 Travel by Recommendations.

Level 4 Covid-19 Very High has the following warning “Avoid travel to these destinations. If you must travel to these destinations, get fully vaccinated before travel.”

Twenty-seven white sand beaches with tropical drinks and the cool breeze are officially under travel restriction. Things got better when CDC updated the level 3 list. Or maybe, since only one country is on level 3 things are bad? Just one Caribbean country made it onto the level 3 list of travel recommendations.
Level 3 Covid-19 High designation also has this warning “Make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to these destinations. Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to these destinations.”

More Northern dwellers appreciate the few vacation days on a white sand beach with the sun and breeze all around. Covid-19 has done a great job limiting destination sites and vacation prospects. Though many are optimistic, it feels like we will have to establish a new standard of normality. More and more, it feels like the Covid-19 vaccines are a part of this new normal.
So it is time to start embracing what we cannot change. Get vaccinated and stick to the guidelines. Maybe then the world will find normalcy again.
