A few days ago, I was tagged in a unique challenge that I never saw this particular challenge on Medium before. I get tagged in a few challenges, but I’m real picky on which ones I decide to write about. Thank you, Courtney Capone, for thinking of me at that moment.

I’m not one to backslide, so here I am, challenging myself with the challenge. It’s straightforward; you use each letter of the alphabet to describe who you are; this is a testament to one’s vocabulary and creativity. I say all of that to say Challenge Accepted.

Authentic. What you see from me is what you’ll get. I’m not a good liar, so the only thing you’ll get from me is honesty. If you need someone to tell you about yourself, I’m the person you need in your corner. My intention is always to help you be the best version of yourself. Oh, to Ms. Bartosh, who fixed her lips on telling me I was “overly authentic” shame on you because my authenticity is appreciated, and people love to read about my thoughts.

Black. It confuses me how my blackness can make people uncomfortable at times. When I repeat phrases that my black is beautiful, I’m not degrading another race, ethnicity, or nationality. Being proud to be me shouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings, and before you say, “why can’t we say white power?” Because the phrase white power…
