You’ve written your next article, and are ready to submit it — but wait, have you considered which publication is best for your piece? As it turns out, a better strategy is to weigh the best places to submit your article before you’ve written it.
That way you can tailor your article towards your target publication’s requirements. Below I’ve listed ten things you should take into account before submitting your article to any publication — or even writing that article.
1) How Many Followers Does the Publication Have?
Before you submit your article to a publication, you should check how many followers it has. It’s okay to submit your piece to a publication that has less than 100 followers, as I have noted here. But you should know this information before you take the plunge, so that you can set your expectations.
You can do this by adding: “/latest” at the end of the URL. This is what it looks like:
