Don’t Believe Anyone Who Tells You Freelance Writing is “Easy Money”
It might be their experience but it’s not easy for most people!
It really bothers me when I see an article on here with a title like One Simple Thing I Do to Make $1000 a Month From Writing. And you have to click on it right? You have to read it because what if you’re really missing out on some super easy way to make a good chunk of change just from writing?
Unfortunately, the truth is that there really isn’t an easy way to make a lot of money from writing in a short period of time. Some writers might find a way to do it and it works for them but it doesn’t necessarily work for everyone. Most writers who want to make a living from writing struggle to do so for years.
I’ve been writing online for twenty years and I’ve written every type of content you can possibly imagine. Literally. I’ve even written about nothing. I’ve had jobs that paid very well. But mostly I’ve had jobs that paid under 5 cents a word.
I’ll tell you a secret. I still write for less than 5 cents a word, even with all my experience.
