You can earn a little cash and gain free marketing at the same time

So you have an idea for an article but don’t know where to send it? And-you’re not interested in unpaid guest posts?

Well, you’re in luck-this post provides a list of 5 sites that pay at least $50 for publishing your piece. Not only do they pay for guest posts, but they each allow for a bio or a link to your site. That’s a great bonus!

This list isn’t focused on one specific niche:

Sites to Pitch That Pay

At the time of this article ( July 2021), the below-listed sites pay for guest posts. I keep a list of common places that I pitch to; however, most have been mentioned repeatedly in other posts, so I didn’t include them. For example, both The Penny Hoarder and The Moneypantry are no longer accepting pitches, although they used to pay for guest posts.

I wanted to share a few sites that I don’t think are as well known, so writers like you can benefit from writing for them.

1. Anxiety Foundation

This site is about-you guessed it-Anxiety/Mental Health. You do not need to be a medical professional to write for them. They have high expectations and make it a point to let you know that on their guidelines page.

  • What types of posts are they looking for?
They want posts about mental health. Some recent topics they have published are about mindfulness and dealing with difficult people at work.
  • What do they pay? $50
  • What is the minimum word count?
    A minimum of 550 words.
  • Tips & Pointers?
They expect informative pieces that are well researched, with valid sources. They don’t want opinion pieces.
You are responsible for providing images.
  • Do they allow a bio link?
Yes, they provide a biography page with links to your site if you have one (and you really should!).
  • Here is their guidelines/contributor page. They don’t want a complete story sent to them but rather a proposed topic. You can send them your post once you hear back from them.

2. A Fine Parent

This parenting site encourages their readers to feel like a community where they can share and learn from each other to become better parents.

  • What type of posts are they looking for?
Thankfully, they list the three types of posts they are looking for at this time: Basics of positive parenting, How To’s, and What to do when stories of parenting challenges.
  • What do they pay? $75
  • What is the minimum word count? 1500–3000 words
  • Tips & Pointers?
They don’t want pitches; they want you to send the entire article to them via Google Drive. They want unique, personal stories and lessons you can share.
  • Do they allow for a bio link?
Although they do not address this on their submissions page, I reviewed numerous articles, and on each one, the author’s name linked out to a bio summary. It also contained links to their blogs/sites where they write.
  • Here are their submissions guidelines.

3. LadyQs

You probably guessed from the title; this site caters to women and focuses on answering questions women have about a wide array such as Beauty, Finance, Food, & Maternity.

  • What types of posts are they looking for?
They prefer nonfiction essays, opinions, how-to guides, product reviews. They mention that they will also take fictional with words of 1000–10,000
  • What do they pay? $50, however they mention it could be more for lengthier and more unique content.
  • What is the minimum word count?
Not specifically listed; however, I reviewed several articles, and they ranged around 500–1000 words.
  • Tips & pointers?
They have topics on their home page ranging from business, finance, maternity, fashion, food, beauty, social media, and marriage/dating.
  • Do they allow for a bio link?
They ask you to include a bit about yourself when you fill out their submissions/contact us form. I also reviewed numerous articles, and they all have a photo and author bio and links to their blogs/sites.
  • Read their guidelines page before pitching to them. They don’t want the whole article sent to them, but rather the title and a brief description of what you want to write about.

4. Funds for Writers

This site caters to helping others make a living as a writer.

  • What types of posts are they looking for?
All articles must be related to earning a living as a writer. It can be advice or a success story, how-to-be successful stories.
  • What do they pay? $60 for unique, original, unpublished articles. They will also pay $20 for reprinted articles.
  • What is the minimum word count? 550–650 words
  • Tips & pointers? They are very specific that your posts have to be about earning a living as a writer. Nothing else. They aren’t looking for posts about how to write. They want success stories, writing income ideas, and something that can teach their readers how to succeed or grow financially as a writer.
  • Do they allow for a bio link? Yes
  • Their guidelines page is extremely thorough, and they cover pretty much every question you may have. They provide examples of topics they want versus what they don’t want.

5. Hit the Road (RV Reviews & Rentals)

This site caters to people that enjoy traveling and adventuring with RV’s and campers. It’s an excellent place for all you road trippers out there that also like to write!

The articles must be about Australia, New Zealand, the USA, or Canada. Although they are mainly a review site, they have a blog section dedicated to travel advice called The Glovebox, written by contributors like you.

  • What types of posts are they looking for?
They want stories about road trip experiences — especially stories that involve rented motorhomes and camper vans. They also like city guides, stories about travel tips, and pointers for using an RV or Camper for your road trip.
  • What do they pay? $50
  • What is the minimum word count?
No minimum is listed; however, a maximum of 1500 words. I reviewed numerous articles, and they ranged from 900–1350 words.
  • Tips & pointers? Like all of the other sites, the writing must be original. The articles I perused included topics such as city guides, best places to go in certain cities, travel apps to use, how to cook in your campervan, preparing for your RV trip, and frugal ways to travel.
  • Do they allow for a bio link? Yes
  • Here is their guidelines page. To pitch, they ask that you sign up to do so.

During my search for paying sites, I came across multiple sites that used to pay for guest posts, but sadly no longer do.

I’m hoping we don’t see that becoming a more common practice.

Many of these changes seem to be recent, as I had to cross several off my list of go-to’s that were paying as little as a month ago.

Don’t dilly-dally on these sites. Take a look and wow them with your writing while you can still get paid.
