Forever My Sweet Soul

A poem about my infant loss on this memorable day

Feeling you within

My womb your safe nesting place

Beautiful baby

How could it be in my truth

That you were claiming your life

Within me you grew

Each day a new miracle

Moments became more

Changing my life was easy

All was done because of love

You were within me

An ultrasound showed your life

I already knew

Making plans to show you more

Feeling hopes and dreams come forth

Then there was a change

Something to plan for as told

Planning for the end

Not allowing sorrow then

Keeping hope alive and well

Time held on for life

As each moment, not day came

Possibly it could happen

Life could still be known

Until-With a slight movement

Way before your time

It was not to truly be

Yet-You are alive

I believe it to be so

It’s all in my heart

And that is something so true

While some call it an ending

It’s still beginning

Each day I hold you in dreams

Each time your name is spoken

Signs in this life now

Tell me that you are alive

Just another place and time

I know I held you

In my hands this was so

I would know always

Your life brought forever hope

Someday we will meet again

This I most assuredly know

Baby Love forever a soul
