Here’s the Difference Between Compassion and Empathy

And why confusing the two helps no one

Did you believe, as I did, that compassion and empathy were interchangeable? It’s easy to conflate the two, but their difference matters. Both are beneficial, but there are nuanced distinctions between compassion and empathy that will determine which one you use to help someone else and, in turn, help yourself.
