Human Design & Marketing: Why It Works
Human design is not about being a particular personality, so you get a label stuck: you are THIS, so you are like THAT.
A lot of times, it feels like that with any kind of profiling. For some people, it feels good and explains things they may have shamed themselves about. For others, it feels suffocating to be put in a box.
But Human Design, when you get to understand it profoundly, is not like that at all. It basically says there is a design, an imprint, an “operating system” that can remove the struggle if fully enabled. Because you will be able to lean into who you are and do things the way that is natural for YOU and tap into the gifts and strength that you are born with while sampling and playing with your openness while interacting with the auras of others in your world.
This last part I love the most. We can learn what is ours and what is actually “borrowed”. And like with everything borrowed, we can play with it and take pleasure in exploring it and use it to what we want and need to do and then return, let go of. It is not ours and does not need to create clutter in our lives.
Most people do not recognise that something they have does not belong to them, and they cling to it, yet these beliefs, thoughts and behaviours can only hurt them. While the beauty of Human Design is to learn who you are and how you can “taste” or sample the energies that may not be “yours” without getting stuck in the long term. This is what “conditioning” means to me. When you learn about Human Design, a lot of conversation is around de-conditioning. But that does not mean completely getting rid of something to me.
I fully admit that perhaps after another decade of experimenting with my design, I will have another definition of conditioning. That can happen, and I have no idea what lies ahead and what way my perceptions and feelings and understanding of anything will shape then.
But for now, this feels very good.
For a couple of years, I went into some form of self-shaming for being “conditioned” this way or the other. I think it is the first reaction of everyone who comes to Human Design through the original creator’s definitions. (The language used by Ra is not the most encouraging, but there was a valid reason for that, and this is a topic for another day.)
And then somebody said, “Projectors are very vulnerable to conditioning”, and it clicked. I understood that doesn’t mean that anyone with open centres is a victim of some evil brainwashing (this is how it feels at the start). It just means that we are flexible. We can literally penetrate the energy and aura of those with defined elements and have a little taste or sample, and use it strategically to our advantage, rather than starting to believe this is IT for us.
I think this is particularly obvious in the marketing and business coaching industry. There could be a coach that you follow, and you feel so pulled and attracted to them, and you literally want to be like them because you do not see “why not?”.
But that coach could be a completely different type by design, and maybe they are here to trailblaze, create movements, and initiate things.
When you start following their strategies — you end up frustrated because you do everything they said and it doesn’t feel right, and when you push, you get pushback from your audience or leads, and when you initiate, not much interest arises. And you think something is wrong with you… But the only bad thing is that you are trying to operate using another “operating system” manual.
It is like you are working on a MacBook, but you are trying to use Windows keyboard shortcuts. They do nothing and make you feel frustrated.
Now, if you learn and master the shortcuts that work for YOU and YOUR operating system, everything falls into place and becomes a breeze.
And the other thing is that there are highly visible marketing and business coaches I know who are, for example, Manifesting Generators and have a lot of sacral energy. They move super fast, and they can respond to their audiences and initiate new projects so quickly. They create whatever they feel they want fast too. And then even move to something else, and still, they manage it all well.
And you look at them, buy their programs and try to implement them, and it feels so overwhelming and exhausting, and some strategies feel plain wrong. When you voice your concerns, these coaches look at you with slight disbelief in their eyes because it is so natural for them, so if you cannot do this, you must be making excuses or something…
…and you start thinking that maybe you are not cut out for it.
Well, I am here to tell you — you ARE.
You are just not seeing it.
You are not focusing on YOUR brilliance and honouring YOUR energy levels and, most importantly, YOUR strategy.
Which could be the opposite in terms of what action to take than everything you have learned or tried.
By the way, not every Manifesting Generator is set for success in marketing, and it doesn’t mean that if you are a Generator, a Manifestor, a Projector or a Reflector that there is no way you cannot be super visible and super successful while feeling really good about it.
It is about doing it YOUR way without trying to be someone else.
This is the niche I am focusing on in my business. I said so many times that I am not interested in becoming a human design coach, and I fully understand that there is a “trend” moving into human design.
And that is ok. What I am doing here, and I know this in every part of my body, is following my calling and not jumping on the bandwagon.
In fact, I have been holding myself back for over a year, trying to deny that this is what I want to do and trying to develop programs that use strategies I learned and implemented. Still, I was doing it in a very “non-projectory” way, and I secretly hated them and couldn’t get myself to promote them properly either…
I gave away my power to programs and coaches’ energy I tried to follow without even thinking if this aligned with who I am.
What was ACTUALLY happening was that I was sampling and testing (my line 3) and experiencing the conditioning that we should always make sure we deliver “results” in marketing.
I assumed the results are only proper “results” when they are tangible.
I completely missed the point in my coaching business about where my brilliance really shines.
What others always said to me about working with me. (And I tend to stay in some clients worlds as a visibility coach for years- so why is that?)
And then I have a huge A-HA moment. My coaching and mentoring are all about the PROCESS and the personal breakthroughs, a-ha’s, tiny but powerful shifts that some of my clients experience on EVERY call.
That is what I am here to be — a guide.
Not a builder, not a leader of a movement.
And this is what you are observing in my new direction right now, and probably even responding to it internally in a positive way.
