I’m Not an INFP Anymore
This introvert is kind of an extravert now
My husband and I took the Myers-Briggs test a little while ago, just to see what we got. I’m not a really believer in those sort of things and I take the results with a hefty grain of salt.
But.
I’ve always been an INFP, ever since I first did the test when I was thirteen. The “Mediator” type, which according to 16personalities.com is a “quiet, open-minded, and imaginative, and they apply a caring and creative approach to everything they do.”
It suited me pretty well. My teenage years were rife with horrible social anxiety, which eventually improved in my early twenties. I’ve been a creative type forever, I’m very empathetic, and all in all it just really did seem like an accurate reflection of me — always the introvert.
So imagine my shock when in my early thirties I got a different result for the first time. The “I” for Introverted morphed into an “E” for Extraverted!
ENFP types are “Campaigners”, which 16personalities.com defines as people who “embrace big ideas and actions that reflect their sense of hope and goodwill toward others. Their vibrant energy can flow in many directions.”
And you know what’s great? That definition rings true for who I am now.
