I lay awake thinking of you
Of us
Of what we could have been
But never will
The empty night uninvited has come
It reminds me of the day you entered my —
Life
Unexpected as it were
I laid eyes on you and so it was set
I remember you so clear
The light in your eyes
The red lips
The curves of your body
The scent of your skin
Your radiant smile and infectious laugh
Gave me fuel for life in a world I felt so — trapped
Now left all alone, the hope seems so much more gone
Alone in the world above
Thinking of the one below
My heart longs for yours
But yours is now gone
In the darkness of the room
I dance with you.
