Writing is finally looking up

I started writing on Medium on the 7th of September this year. When I started I had expectations that I realized now are unreasonable. Seeing and reading about the success stories of so many writers I thought “this is the break to start earning cash that can put me into earn retirement”. In the words of an older wiser man “that was a waste of thought”. Because I have not made my bleep in the world of content writers just yet. Even though I am still very new and still very green in the world of content writing.

Everyone writing for blogs, publishing platforms, and journals understands the struggle to produce an article that will bring the big break and hopefully set you on the road to a successful writing career. It can take years or it can only be days or maybe this first story doesn’t make it as big as you thought it would be. Nevertheless, the struggle continues and you keep writing, developing your craft till 1 day the odds turn in your favor.

It took 24 days to hit the “Top Story” spot on Vocal

Approximately 6 days ago, I published an article entitled “4 Need to know Acne advice from Dermatologists” on Vocal. Just a few hours after publication this story hit 1 of the top story spots on Vocal’s homepage. This was the most exciting 24 hours of my life.

From the title, you already know what it is about. But the inspiration has a deeper mean. If you have read through my previous stories you will see quite a few articles on how to care for your skin and hair. In high school there effects of puberty came on fast and hard, and I’m not talking about the good kind. It took me years to figure out the problem, and acne and its scars were no joke. 6 years later I found the “fountain of youth” in 4 products and a rigidity routine.

So instead of keeping all the knowledge from research locked away in my mind, I decided to pool what I have learned combined with dermatologic advice into 1 article. The physiological turmoil of acne can run real deep. SO, I couldn’t just allow another person to suffer that way.

Writing to a level where you can retire on it will take time. The key is to never give up on writing no matter how hard it get. And it can get really hard when you don’t see the views and dollars you expected to see. But that okay!Keep building on the audience you do have and in time, hopefully not too long in the future you will see the results you want.
