How to Set Your Words Apart From the Crowd

Too much of a good thing is, well, too much.

When Aldus Manutius, a 14th Century Italian printer, wanted a font that looked like cursive handwriting, sloping from left to right, he created what we now know as “italics.” Initially, he published whole books in the font.
