I’ve Landed Every Job I’ve Ever Interviewed For
These are the things I do to make myself unforgettable.
“After next week, there will be a short list of about 10 candidates left,” said my potential new boss.
“F*ckkkkkkk,” I thought to myself. I had to play it cool, though.
“Okay, great!” I forced out with a big, enthusiastic smile. I’d just wrapped up my first-round interview and wanted to gauge my place in the hiring process.
I’m well aware of the way things go around here, and it goes without saying: the competition is always fierce.
But TEN candidates on the “short list” after already weeding through 100+ others?
I definitely didn’t like those odds…
Because “shortlist” candidate = someone who is highly qualified, and could do this job very well.
And when ten people are on that level, there’s no telling who is going to get the job!
But let me back up for a moment…
I work at one of the largest, most prestigious consumer products companies in the world, and I was interviewing for a promotion about 5 months ago.
Before this, I’d intentionally waited for years to pursue a new opportunity— even though I was qualified to do so.
