My Single Biggest Tip To New Writers On The Platform
PS — it isn’t to write everyday
I’m just over one month into my Medium writing journey, as well as my writing journey itself, in fact. I have lost count of the number of articles I have written giving advice to new writers and new Medium users as to how to succeed on this site.
I have tried some of their suggestions and have ignored others. Some were useful, some were not. I don’t think there will ever be a step by step blueprint that works for everyone, on how to become successful. Particularly regarding success in writing.
Writing in itself is such a personal and skilful endeavour and no matter the advice you receive from others in terms of technicality, length, content topic, fonts, headlines and sentence structure, there’s always going to be something missing if you’re not personally and emotionally connected with it.
From this, there have been times that I have felt able to intertwine advice from writers into my own writing and other pieces of advise that I felt I just would not be able to adapt to. But there is one piece of advise that I think can really increase Medium writer’s chances of success here, that is easily done, quick to complete and is a huge confidence booster!
