We’re already seeing the death of words like “lit” and “YOLO” as well as an increase in words like “sheesh” as our culture continues to evolve, and 2022 is no different. As social media and technology continue to shape our society, we’re going to see an influx of new slang words that enter the mainstream lexicon.

Here’s a list of words that you may see in 2022, and a brief description of what they mean:

Pushing P — This phrase was inspired by Gunna’s song. In short, it means a way of life. For example, if you spend your hard-earned money on dreams from your childhood, you’re pushing P; however, if you use your parents’ money, you’re not pushing P.

Sheesh — Sheesh has been used to express disbelief and amazement. The longer the sheeeeeessh the more impressive it seems to be.

Dopa Down — Tyler1 first uttered this phrase when downing an opponent, and has been growing quite rapidly among the twitch community. Here’s a clip. To this day we still don’t know if Tyler1 was experiencing a mental breakdown from playing league for 15hrs a day.
