I did it! I’ve made it one year on Medium. And wow have I learned a lot.

This not only exceeded my expectations but it also proved to me that I am a writer.

I repeat: I AM A WRITER.

I haven’t made a thousand dollars. I don’t know if I’ve been curated and I don’t have 100,000 followers. But that’s not the key to success on this platform. (In my opinion)

It’s about the people you meet and your own unique story.

When I started on Medium, I had no idea what I was doing or why I was motivated to write. I felt like I was floundering and didn’t know where to start.

Still, I kept showing up to write and share, which helped me get in a rhythm. Ultimately, pushing through when I wanted to quit or when I felt discouraged was key to my success — as well as finding a great community to encourage me when I needed an extra lift.

It’s amazing how none of us have ever met each other but somehow we find ways to support each other.
