“Writing is an exploration. And exploration never ends.”

One of the most striking features of writing is writing tips. In every book on writing, every writer has some new, actionable writing advice.

The tips and tricks which work for you, may or may not work for me. So, every writer has to find his way by himself.

That’s why we, writers, want to check out every single article on writing. Who knows which advice is going to help.

Writing Advice:

“Don’t go with the flow. Be the flow.”

Elif Shafak, The Forty Rules of Love: A Novel of Rumi

You might be thinking about what it has got to do with writing.

Let me tell you.

It sums up four writing cues for you.

Here you go:

1. Find your writing voice.

There are loads of writings on every single platform. And if all of us started to write the same way, writing would lose its touch. Every person is talented in his way, there is just a need of finding it.

We want to blend in with the crowd, but it has a cost. We may lose our identity in this pursuit. For finding this writing voice you have to write more, and write like yourself.

Find your way in writing by yourself, that’s what going to help you in long run.

2. Find your rules in writing.

You may have read many books. But not all of them inspired you the same way. Right? Plus inspiration varies from person to person. The book which inspires you can or can not inspire me.

As I said above, everyone has his talents. If we follow every bit of writing tips blindly, we would end up in nothingness. Yes, there are loads of writing recommendations but not everyone among them works for you. So, find rules which work for You.

Let me give you an example. As I am sure you may come up with articles on writing every day or writing plus publishing every day. Now, it depends upon your schedule.

If each of us started to write and publish every day, even if we have little time, our writing will die its own death. Nobody is going to read an incomplete and poorly structured essay. So, sometimes you have to take a different road.

Finding writing rules is as important as finding your voice.

3. Writing on the topic of your choice.

Some say write about what you know, others advise write about what you don’t know. But who’s to write? Of course, you. So the choice should be yours.

A random topic engenders uninteresting writing. Following your heart is important to pour feelings into your writing pieces.

I’ve written nearly 90 pieces of writing here. Some of them got me better views than others. Those articles sure have something to do with my interest/niche.

Follow your interest, you wouldn't be lost.

“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.” Rumi

4. Don’t compare your writing career with others.

Take your time to write and nourish. Sometimes, luck and talent earn more benefits to our fellow beings. But comparing your progress with others is surely unhelpful. As

It will make you envious.

Or

It will compel you to question your writing skills.

We, humans, are a product of meiosis, and we are unique not only in physical forms but in intellectual levels too.

“Everyone grows at their own pace, and you shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone.”

~Manny MUA

When we are different in every way, how we can afford this comparison?

We are writers because of our desire to write. As long as you have this desire, you are a growing writer. Keep fueling your writing desire in every way you can. Amass as many tips as you can, but keep in mind you are unique. When you make your way by yourself, you set an example. Happy Writing to you!
