One-Person Business: Why Is It Becoming Popular?

One-person business is one topic that has caught my attention whenever I open Twitter.
It seems the creator economy has opened many opportunities to build a one-person business.
I started to think about why solopreneurship is becoming popular. From all the social media and the writing platforms, the next big thing that could happen is the one-person business.
Why is it becoming so popular?
People must have found some benefit in pursuing their own one-person business.
A few years back, if people got a high paid job, that was a celebration or an achievement for them. They used to study how to crack a job interview. But now, they are curious about the one-person business.
So there must be some benefit that people have found.
Below is my take on the popularity of the one-person business.
Freedom
The innate nature of humankind is attaining freedom.
For example, when a baby is born, he/she cuddles in their mother’s lap. The moment he/she is capable of crawling, he/she becomes inquisitive to explore his/her small world. That means he/she always wants to go out of his/her mother’s lap and see the new things around them. He/she wants to attend freedom.
When it comes to your own one-person business, you are your boss. You have the freedom to make decisions the way you like.
It could be a reason why people are considering building a one-person business. It allows them to work the way they want and be their bosses.
Flexible working hours
A one-person business facilitates doing the work on your own time. The only commitment is you will have to deliver to the client. But the working time is decided by you.
On a Tuesday, if you do not wish to open your laptop at 9:00 a.m., you may not. You can do the work in the afternoon or the late evening. The only commitment is to complete your deliverables before a specific deadline.
Working from anywhere
If you have a one-person business, you can even go to the mountains and do the work for your business. On any day, if you wish to visit your relatives or parents, you can take your laptop and work from their place.
Flexible work pressure
In a one-person business, after working for a few months, if you want to work less on a particular month, you can do that.
In a one-person business, you get to decide when the work pressure will be very high and when the work intensity will be low.
A sense of creativity
A one-person business will give you a tremendous sense of creativity.
Maybe you are creating a product or an online e-course. Whatever you make, when you see your ideas have taken a life, you enjoy a sense of creativity. It gives you joy and inspiration to create more products that solve people’s problems.
Summary
There are many success stories available on social media on the one-person business.
Will it become the future of work? I don’t know.
People try something different and continue that if they get some benefit and comfort.
