What about that old chestnut? The one about the age-old “new” wife versus the “old” wife situation.
No ageist disrespect is meant here with the old versus new terminology; it is just to differentiate the order of marriage by the two women.
Well, it seems that under the divorce settlement the beautifully designed, lovingly appointed, the jointly-owned house had been awarded to the old husband and the new wife.
Now the old wife had put her all into the building of this house, and she had lovingly designed it right down to the last screw.
