It can help reignite the burning, passionate love you once had for your long-term partner.

Recently, while browsing through YouTube, I came across an old song I used to play on repeat — Fresh Eyes by Andy Grammer. The lyrics went a little like this:

I got these fresh eyes, never seen you before like this
My God, you’re beautiful
It’s like the first time when we open the door
Before we got used to usual

It might seem superficial, stereotypical, man
You dress up just a little and I’m like, “Oh, damn”

So suddenly I’m in love with a stranger
I can’t believe that she’s mine
Now all I see is you with fresh eyes, fresh eyes

I felt all warm and fuzzy every time I listen because it was such a sweet and wonderful thing — seeing your lover whom you’ve known for a long time with fresh eyes. A quick research about him showed that he was married to his wife for four years when this song was released.

Having been married for two, I can understand how long term relationships can become routine. Of course, you still love your partner very much but the relationship is just lacking that little bit of spark like how it was in the beginning. You love your partner, but you’re not as in love with them as you were when you first started.
