Sunlight reflected from the two decorated metals.

Reminding of sacrifices left long behind.

Life and respect die slowly or instantly.

With only other fallen or friends remaining to remember.

These affectionate waves clearly distinguished.

Praise dead, forgetting they heard only silence or doubt before departure.

Those left, the ones who did not perish, relegated to second best citizens.

Humans without humanity.

Fellows with no fellowship.

Some rescue the body only.

Damning the mind to replay sights no eye should vision.

Souls left to rot, while we glamorize the fake.

Pleasure will entice all to submit, until it’s taken away.

Even heading to defeat, most follow the masses.

Some light the way for futures unappreciated.

Others sacrifice the way for the next wave to sacrifice next.

The worst climb the backs of the fallen.
