How many 20–30-year-olds have a work-life balance? At the same time we’re told to take pride in going above and beyond to benefit our careers and to establish those work foundations which ‘set you up for life’, we’re also told to by live life to the fullest. Travelling the world, doing activities outside your comfort zone, taking risks.

Which is it then? Work or life?

Your 20’s is a decade of change and indecision. It’s the paradox of building a career so you can enjoy life in future but realizing that taking on more responsibility means less time for yourself. Although most of us want to achieve a work-life balance, we rarely reflect on the tasks we do in our day-to-day and categorize them between the two domains.

Side hustle — work or play?

Side hustles are born out of hobbies or something you’re good at. As a hobby, you don’t see it as work but when the hobby morphs into a side hustle, the boundaries are less clear cut. Side hustles commonly involve you leveraging a skill you’re good at to generate income. The issue is, once you see it as a potential money-making tool, you view it differently as ‘work’.
