These Days I Spend In Love
A poem about life and relationships
Laughing over coffee on a snowy morning
Is all that really matters in the end
Isn’t it?
Warm embraces and soft touches
After heated discussions
About everything under the sun
A day-by-day struggle
Against the tide
That carries us along
By turns battling and reveling
In the swirling water as the shore spins
Dizzyingly past
Be brave, my love,
You say
And I keep swimming
The rapids battering our bodies,
Entwining us
Like errant leaves in a storm
Coming together and apart,
Dancing through
The sparkling foam
Your hand in mine
Bouyant and unrestrained
On these days spent in love
