To Become Superior, You Need To Work On Your Limiting Beliefs
Often, your limitations are just beliefs rather than truths.
At some point, everyone faces limiting beliefs about themselves, whether related to relationships or earning money. These limiting beliefs cause us to face many challenges in our lives.
- I cannot do it. It’s not my cup of tea.
- I cannot earn a lot of money.
- I am too old to do it.
- I am too young to do it.
- Business is not for me.
- I am not good at relations.
These are some of our limiting beliefs. We weren’t born with these beliefs; we have picked them up along the way, and our surroundings and environment play an essential role.
“You don’t know who you are; you just know what they’ve told you about who you are!”
― Maddy Malhotra
When we are children, we are told not to try some things. We make them permanent in our minds. Now, it’s challenging to remove that. We grow up seeing our families struggling and listening to that money is difficult to earn.
Now, whenever we think of money, we associate it with difficulty. This limiting belief that I cannot earn significant money comes from this behaviour. Your behaviour also changes according to your beliefs.
But can we identify all our limiting beliefs? The more important question is, can we overcome those? The answer to both of these questions is yes. We can work on ourselves to change our beliefs.
You need to assess yourself. Sit in solitude with a pen and paper. Write down all your limiting beliefs. Do not think that they are essential or not. Write down every limiting belief you have.
“You are only as limited as your beliefs.”
― Jennifer Ho-Dougatz
You need to write everything, whether it’s related to money, a job, a business, a career, a relationship, or anything else that comes to your mind.
Write down the reason behind all those beliefs. Do they come from your parents, friends, school, or colleagues? You need to write the cause of the limiting belief.
Writing down the reason will help you identify the source, and then you can work on that source to change your belief.
Once you have written down all your limiting beliefs, take another paper and write down what will happen if you don’t have that limiting belief. Write down everything that comes to your mind.
“Examine your beliefs and break free.”
― Maria Erving
Will you get a good job? Will you have a successful business? Will your relationships thrive? Write down everything that will happen if you overcome those limiting beliefs.
After that, start positively and visualize everything you have written down. It does not work on the first day. It’s a continuous process. You need to work on your limiting beliefs every day.
The more you visualize and practice it, the more your mind will work on it. You may fear changing, and you may feel uncomfortable doing all this. But you don’t have to stop.
You need to overcome all those negative beliefs in your life once and for all. Start by eliminating the belief you have. See what you have written if you have overcome it. Make a positive move towards it.
“The only thing limiting you is yourself.”
― Ken Poirot
It does not matter how much work you do in that area; what matters is that you need to take at least one step each day. You have to work on your limiting beliefs with focus.
When you start working on yourself, you will see many changes in the coming days. You have to acquire a growth mindset to remove all those limiting beliefs. Do not stay stuck in the same place.
You are a human and not a tree. You can move on to better positions. With a growth mindset, you will see many new opportunities. As you start working on your beliefs, you will start seeing growth.
Refrain from Being Chained by Limiting Beliefs. Often, your limitations are just beliefs rather than truths. You must encourage yourself to discover new opportunities and reach a turning point in your growth.
