“Trick or Treat,” Jill walked around the streets saying.
If her customers chose “treat,” she’d offer their preference. If it was “trick,” she knew how to surprise them.
It was a hard line of business filled with abuse, disease, and poverty.
But she wouldn’t complain, not until her daughter graduated.
