Vivienne Westwood born in 1941 and died in 2022 at age 81 was a punk rock fashion legend whose trademark hair color was a bright shade of orange. She was an English designer who became synonymous with the movement’s style and attitude. Westwood was born to be a designer who was self-taught. She would follow patterns or purchase clothing to be taken apart and reattached as she taught herself how to be a designer in her own right.

While she was born to be a designer, she designed up until the day she died. She was working on her art, writing her book, and changing the world for the better. She took the fashion world over like a whirlwind. In continuing her many incomplete projects, her husband, Andreas Kronthaler, has vowed to continue her work.

Vivienne was a major icon during the 1970s of the British punk scene who enjoyed a long career highlighting a string of triumphant runway shows in London, Paris, Milan, and New York. Her designs were anti-establishment values, adorned the bodies of numerous celebrities of various ethnicities, those on the Hollywood red carpets, and even were impactful on the British royal family.
