What do you write about? How about anything you love!
Webinar Watched: “What is your niche? Never run out of story ideas.”
A few weeks ago I watched the winter workshop on writing in your niche: “What is your niche?” (Creator Hub). Two of the Medium Creator Hub explained (for many attendants) how to find your story ideas. The webinar was enlightening and I want to share some takeaways.
What do you write about? How about anything you like! And when you like it, you might find readers who like that too.
Some of the tips
- Write about something you would love to talk about with strangers without preparation.
- What are things people come to you for if they seek help? That’s a strength!
- It will help your focus if you have a 5 to10 word ‘elevator pitch’, describing what you stand for in your writing.
- Find your own cadence, your own way and frequency of publishing. While you’re at it, make sure it is quality. Not perfection, also do not work in bulk.
- Don’t feel you have to stay stuck within a subject forever. You are free to write on topics that make your joyous light shine brightly.
