THE SUSTAINABLE CREATOR
When Enough Feels Like It’s Enough
How do you feel contented with what you already have?
I found myself thinking about where I am in life right now, the exact place I hoped I would be at just 5 years ago.
Back when I was still a junior executive, earning just above minimum wage, I thought to myself just how great life would be once I started making 6 figures a year.
I thought about all the things I could buy, all the holidays I could take, and the savings I could have — once I started making 6 figures a year.
Fast forward almost 2 decades since I started my corporate life, and I’m where I wanted to be.
I’m making a 6-figure salary annually, can buy a lot of the things I wanted to buy when I was younger, and go on holidays that I want to go on.
But I’m still not able to save as much as I would like.
And this is mainly because as my salary increased, so did my expenses.
All the things I wanted to buy when I was younger, all the things that I can buy (and have bought) now, they increased my monthly expenses to the point that I’m not able to save more despite earning more.
