Hey, Magnificent Moon!

You are blood red rising above our head.

Who painted your whites and grays

with blood red and tinges of orange?

Why did you bleed red?

Did you hide your pale yellow behind this orange-red?

Why are your eyes filled with pores of fumes?

Did our planet turn your coldness warm?

Did you hear the cries and shrieks of the earth?

Did you feel the hotness of the sun or

did you get the sunburns from him?

Do you feel you can’t take it anymore or

do you wish to run away to the stone age?
