What should I write? Generated in Midjourney. It’s quite good.

Welcome back to another session of Daily Prompt, where I provide you with creative seeds to sow in the garden of your imagination. If this session resonates with you, be sure to engage with it so I may feel inspired to fuel your creative fire.

Like last time, I’ll provide a prompt and show you what I come up with. (Imagine, Picture, Consider)

Let’s dive into today’s prompts.

Horror Prompt

“In an old, abandoned mansion on the outskirts of town, a group of friends decides to spend the night, only to discover they are not alone.”

Imagine this

“The old Forsythe Manor?” said Lauren in dismay.

Brad nodded. “That’s the one. I heard the Forsythe’s all murdered one another fifty years ago.”

Lauren squinted at the four of them. “Why in the hell would we go to look around an old haunted mansion? I’m not crazy.”

“Scared?” asked Evan. Evan, the skinniest out all five us seemed to be afraid of nothing. He made a move to the side of me. “Don’t worry, Lauren, I’ll protect you from the ghosts.”

Kimmie-Lee, in her signature short skirt, danced around with her cell phone capturing everyone on camera. When she spoke, she didn’t speak with the group. She spoke with her audience on her Youtube Live channel. “Did you hear that, guys? Tonight, yours truly is going to explore the haunted Forsythe Mansion on the outskirts of town.” She twirled around to show a little flesh on her backside, and, to Lauren’s great amazement, managed to somehow get all of it on her camera without dropping the phone. “Follow me tonight if you want to see some ghosts! All donations are welcome for my bravery.” And she blew a kiss at the camera.

“We need to go get Emily if we’re going to go there,” said Lauren. “Emily knows the outside of town better than any of us.”

Romance Prompt

“At a bustling café in a quaint European town, two strangers meet by chance and feel an instant, undeniable connection.”

Picture this

Hope sipped at her latte. The brown sugar hit her tongue and gave her the feeling of an instant sugar rush. Cinnamon hit her nostrils. This was the second time she had been to this café, and the cinnamon was the reason why. Cinnamon made all the difference.

The croissant also made a difference, until Hope realised it was missing something. Something important. She walked over to the counter and greeted the Frenchman with her warmest smile. He’s kinda cute, Hope thought. “Hi, could I get some jam, please.”

The man, curly-haired and green-eyed, gave her a warm smile in return, perhaps a warmer one. “Oui, Madame.”

Oh, thought Hope, a smile from such cutey is worth a dozen of the smiles I’ve seen in the last year. She took the jam. “Merci, monsieur.”

Hope made her way to her chair and dove into her jam croissant. She took a bite of it, her senses filling with fruity, sugary goodness. Greedily, she took another bite without swallowing.

“Enjoy that, madame?” came a deep, raspy voice.

Hope looked up. She wanted to speak, and if not for the mouthful of bread, the gentleman might have taken her breath away anyway. Deep brown eyes sparkled with intelligence, and an easy smile revealed a set of perfectly white teeth.

The man chuckled, a sound like honey. He was dressed in a stylish yet casual manner, his clothes tailored to perfection and complementing his athletic build. “I see you are.”

Oh my God, thought Hope, her cheeks warming. What a catch.

Mystery Prompt

“In a sleepy fishing village, a fisherman discovers a locked chest buried in the sand, setting off a chain of events that uncovers a long-buried secret.”

In a quiet fishing village where the sun always seemed to sparkle on the water, there lived an old fisherman named Ben. He was a tough man, with skin like leather from years spent battling the elements at sea. One day, as he was walking along the shore, he stumbled upon something half-buried in the sand. It was a chest, old and weathered, with intricate carvings that caught the light.

Ben’s curiosity was piqued, so he heaved the chest onto his shoulder and carried it back to his cottage. The whole village seemed to buzz with excitement as word spread of Ben’s discovery. They gathered outside his cottage, eager to see what was inside. After much effort, Ben managed to unlock the chest.

“What do you think is in there?” asked young Tommy, his eyes wide with wonder.

“I’m not sure, lad,” Ben replied, his hands trembling slightly as he lifted the lid. Inside, instead of gold or jewels, there were old journals and letters, hinting at a long-forgotten secret.

See you next session for more prompts!
