A place to learn hacks for life, writing, and other things. She doesn’t waste your time. And it’s FREE. I’m not in any way connected to the Q&D network. I’m not an affiliate. I just like it a lot.

The Grammar Girl Quick and Dirty Grammar Tips network collection began as a set of resources on grammar, usage, and style created by Mignon Fogarty, a former science writer. She began her empire with a simple grammar website in about 2006. Now, Grammar Girl, as Quick and Dirty Tips, encompasses pretty cool podcasts, social media engagement, a YouTube channel, books, an app, and web tips, to name a few. She personifies the diversified path many of us have envisioned, but she spent almost 20 years making it her reality.

As writers, especially prolific writers, we come up against grammar and usage questions frequently when we’re in the middle of compiling a complicated piece of work. Time is of the essence. I like that her stuff is amazingly helpful and easily accessible. The company has expanded its topic interest to encompass how to do a whole bunch of things better in life, in writing, and elsewhere. She doesn’t waste your time. And so far, I haven’t noticed any price tags…
